Janet
Kiser Lambarth
is county chair and agent in rural Pend Oreille county in northeast
Washington state. Her current family living/parenting programs are
Children Cope With Divorce, a court-mandated four-hour class for parents
who are separating , divorcing, or engaged in court actions involving
their children, and mediation training for dispute resolution. She
has developed 40-hour basic mediation training for adults as well
as two-day peer mediation trainings for junior and senior high school
students. Class members have included lawyers, professors, counsellors,
ministers, industry middle management, county fair personnel, and
Department of Energy professionals, as well as people looking for
career changes.
Janet has a Masters' degree
in Child Development from Washington State University, a Bachelor's
degree in Home Economics from Indiana University of Pennsylvania,
and is a doctoral candidate at Gonzaga University in Spokane. As
county Extension chair, her work responsibilities also include community
and economic development, small acreage farming, and 4-H and youth
programming .
