Photo of Chris KoehlerChris Koehler is a WSU Extension faculty member providing programs in family relations, parenting, and life skills for Spokane County residents. Her interests include family meals and traditions; balancing work and family time; and literacy. Working with community partners, Chris has started the Strengthening Families Program for Parents and Youth 10-14 Years in the county. Family meals are an important part of this seven-week family program and made possible with financial assistance from a county DASA grant.

Chris is part of the team that helped develop the original award-winning Family Focus life skills program and shape it into the statewide Caring Families: Parenting Choices which brings communication skills, stress management, personal finance and parenting to the Extension Family and Nutrition Education Program.

Chris is a member of WSU Cooperative Extension's State Parenting Team and is conference chair for Extension's 2001 Northwest Regional Parenting Conference, planned for Spokane. She received her BS in Social Work for Salem State College in Massachusetts, and her MS in Home Economics from Arizona State University.
