As a WSU Extension
Faculty member for Chelan-Douglas Counties in North Central Washington,
Ann provides leadership and educational programs in family relations,
parenting, and life skills areas. Ann collaborates with Chelan-Douglas
Superior Court to provide court-mandated Children Cope With Divorce®
parent education classes in English and Spanish for parents with dependent
children who are divorcing, separating, or involved in custody or
parenting issues. She is also working with community partners on the
development of an Internet Community Resource Directory serving 6
counties in Eastern Washington called "4people.org"
to facilitate and promote the use of resources by residents and service
providers. Ann uses the train-the trainer model to extend Extension
program efforts through such programs as the Families Have Choices
life skills education and Caring Families: Parenting Choices parenting
programs.
Ann has a special interest
in helping farm families involved in tree fruit and dryland wheat
production deal with economic stress and hard times. She is working
with other Extension faculty in planning and conducting educational
programs integrating family and farm economic issues.
Ann is a member of WSU
Cooperative Extension's State Parenting Team and was conference
chair for Extension's 1999 Northwest Regional Parenting Conference.
She has a M.S. in Home Economics Education from Iowa State University
and a M.S. in Clothing & Textiles from Colorado State University.
