Cathy J. DeSautel is the Family Living Educator for WSU Cooperative Extension on the Colville Reservation and Ferry County. Cathy collaborates with Colville Tribal and Ferry County Human Services Departments to provide parenting education for Birth to Three parents, Family Night Out Programs, and other parent-support activities. She also writes a bi-monthly "Nurturing Newsletter" which provides parenting and life skills information to WIC clients.

One of Cathy's special interests is youth development, which is one of her program assignments and includes support to organized 4-H Clubs in the family living areas, 4-H school enrichment presentations at four area schools in nutrition, food safety, ecology, native culture, clothing and creative arts, and a monthly Reservation Youth Newsletters which is mailed to over 400 K-5th graders.

She has a BA in Education, with a Home Economics major, from Eastern Washington University.
