Lori
Carraway, Child
and Family Issues Extension Faculty, provides Snohomish County residents
with educational programming in human development areas including
parenting, aging, and childcare staff training. She works with local
agencies to teach parenting classes for Navy families and other
groups.
Loris interest in
childcare provider training helped launch WSUs childcare training
efforts and the 20-hour BASICS curriculum. As an approved Washington
STARS trainer, Lori offers training for childcare providers and
trains trainers on the BASICS curriculum. She writes feature articles
for local childcare publications and a childcare newsletter entitled
Building on Basics. Lori also writes Prime Time Focus, a supplement
to Health Talk, which addresses quality of life and grandparenting
issues for limited income elders in Snohomish County.
