Kenn Barber's position
is split between teaching in the Department of Human Development
and as an Extension Family Life Specialist for Cooperative Extension.
He was born and raised
in southeastern Idaho, in the Snake River country, and in the shadow
of the Grand Teton Peaks of northwest Wyoming. Kenn has lived most
of his life in the West and Pacific Northwest. Kenn is the youngest
of nine children, the father of five children, and grandfather to
three (so far). At WSU Kenn has been involved with research, teaching,
and extension. Interest areas include marriage and family relationships,
parenting, gerontology, and thanatology.
Kenn earned an Associate
of Science in Engineering from Ricks College; a B.Sc. in Sociology
and a M.Sc. in Sociology and Family Life Education from Brigham
Young University; and a Ph.D.-- Sociology and Counseling from Purdue
University.
